Give a Gift of Wilderness
For generations the Boundary Waters have given respite and renewal to paddlers, hikers and other seekers after solitude. For more than 30 years, one organization Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness has centered its mission on protecting this wild treasure.
Ours is a large and loyal membership but, as with most groups devoted to wilderness protection, we are aging. Together we must enlist the next generation of wilderness champions to carry on our work and extend our legacy.
Also, as you may know, Friends is regrouping after a period of leadership change, with an inevitable dip in fundraising just as we prepare a new campaign to protect the wilderness from sulfide mining.
So I’m asking you to please make a gift of membership to someone among your children and grandchildren or nieces, nephews, siblings, friends, neighbors, colleagues, paddling partners who loves wild places and will be proud to help us protect the BWCAW.
In addition to our quarterly newsletter, issues updates, volunteer opportunities and other member benefits, we’ll send a gift you can present: a box of wilderness-themed notecards or a journal/sketchbook, both produced at the edge of the BWCAW in Ely, MN. Your entire contribution is tax-deductible.
My thanks and best wishes to you.
