Through a unique collaboration with the University of St. Thomas Geographic Information Systems (GIS) department, the Friends is excited to offer a set of Google Earth files for download.

Opening these files in Google Earth lets you explore the BWCAW virtually, seeing portages, entry points, lakes and other information overlaid on Google’s satellite imagery.

A special thanks goes to Zachary Hirsch for his expertise and work in converting these files and providing useful information.

You will need to install Google Earth (free) to view these files.
