Description: At 2301 feet, Eagle Mountain is the highest point in Minnesota, and reaching the summit is a must for your BWCA bucket list. Next time you’re on your way up to the Gunflint Trail, take a few hours out of your drive to hike it! Because it is such a well-traveled trail, you should have no problem finding the trail, in places, it’s something of a highway. But don’t worry, steady elevation gain, boardwalks, possible mud and no shortage of rocks and roots will guarantee a work out. The views from the base at Whale Lake and the summit, as well as major bragging rights to your mountaineer friends (you climbed it without oxygen!) will be your reward.
