Ely Bike Tour – 50 Miles for 50 Years

August 22, 2026 8am-4pm 

Celebrate Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness’ 50th anniversary on two wheels! Join us for a community bike ride from Ely to Soudan and back, with long and short course options available.

Choose from:

  • Long Course: 47.4 miles | Starts at 8:00 AM
  • Short Course: 27.8 miles | Starts at 9:00 AM

    After the ride, celebrate your finish with food trucks and fellow riders in Ely.

    Not riding? We’d still love your help! Volunteers are needed throughout the day to assist with event setup, aid stations, road crossings, and the finish line.

    • Registration: $20 per rider ($10 for participants under 19)
    • Registration deadline: Friday, August 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT
    • Event capacity: 250 participants
