Fire in BWCA

Fires are raging in the Boundary Waters and Quetico this summer, bringing smokey skies, closed entry points, and worries about worsening climate change.

On July 28th, join us for a Lunch with the Friends Presentation on fire in the Boundary Waters. Expert Elias Anoszko will talk about the basics of fire ecology, including how fires start and spread and how plants deal with fire. He will also discuss the history of fires in the Boundary Waters region and give some context to the current fire situation in the region.
