Lunch with the Friends – An Ojibwe Perspective on the Night Sky

Virtual - Zoom

Thursday, March 9th, 2023
12pm Central Time
Virtual Presentation

The night sky has fascinated humans for tens of thousands of years. For millennia, indigenous peoples in the Boundary Waters region have observed the night sky, making it an important part of their culture. Because the Boundary Waters is a designated night sky sanctuary, it is among one of the best places in the world to be observed.

This Thursday, we will be joined by Travis Novitsky, an Ojibwe artist and night sky photographer, who will share his experiences and stories on the wonders of the night sky.

Please come and join us for this special opportunity to learn about the Ojibwe perspective and cultural significance of the night sky.
