Protect the Porkies: Sulfide Mining Community Teach-In

Saturday, September 5, 2026 | 2:00–4:00pm
Caydence Records — 900 Payne Avenue, Saint Paul, MN
Free and open to the public. No registration required.

Copper sulfide mining threatens clean water on both sides of Lake Superior — from the Boundary Waters here in Minnesota to the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Join Friends of the Boundary Waters and Protect the Porkies for a community teach-in at Caydence Records in Saint Paul. We’ll cover what copper sulfide mining is, what it puts at risk in both states, and what our two campaigns are doing to stop it — plus how you can get involved.

The afternoon also features live music from singer-songwriter Ted Hajnasiewicz.
