Cook County, Minnesota is bordered by Lake Superior, the Canadian wilderness, and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness — making it one of the most important and unique places in the country to do aquatic invasive species prevention work.
Join AIS coordinator Amanda Weberg for a look at how the Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District’s program has built a culture of prevention through creative outreach, community education, and a healthy dose of Minnesota humor. Since 2016, the “Clean Your Johnson” campaign has been a staple in business bathrooms across the county — proof that the right message in the right place can make prevention stick.
You’ll hear about local research, outreach strategies, and what it takes to protect one of the most beautiful and ecologically critical corners of the Arrowhead Region.
